Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Selektah?

Selektah is a free, browser-based song request and voting board for parties, weddings, bars, DJs, and events. You create a setlist, share a short code or link, and guests suggest songs that everyone votes on in real time.

Is Selektah free to use?

Yes. Creating a setlist, sharing it, suggesting songs, and voting are all free, with no account required.

Do my guests need to download an app or sign up?

No. Selektah runs entirely in the browser. Guests just open the shared link or enter the code — no app store, no account, no email required.

Can I import songs from Spotify or Apple Music?

Yes. Hosts and guests can search Spotify or Apple Music directly inside Selektah, or paste a song or playlist link to import tracks with artwork automatically.

How does the voting work?

Every suggested song appears on a live-updating list. Guests tap to upvote their favorites, and the list re-ranks instantly by vote count so the most-wanted songs rise to the top.

Can I set a deadline for song requests?

Yes. When creating a setlist you can set a closing time from one hour up to two months out, or leave it open indefinitely.

Is Selektah good for weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events?

Absolutely. Selektah is built for any gathering where a group wants a say in the music — weddings, birthdays, work parties, holiday events, and more.

Can DJs and bars use Selektah for live song requests?

Yes. DJs, bars, and live music venues use Selektah as a live request board, letting the crowd suggest and rank songs without shouting over the music.

How many guests can join a setlist?

There’s no artificial cap — anyone with the link or code can join and vote.

Do guests need Wi-Fi or a special app to join?

Guests just need a phone or laptop with a browser and an internet connection. There’s nothing to install.
